Kieler Woche 2011
When I was first offered the teaching position in Kiel I naturally did a bit of research before accepting or declining it. The first thing I read about the city after Googling it was about Kieler Woche or Kiel Week. Each year the city plays host to a week long sailing festival at the end of June. Sailing fanatics from all over the world descend upon this small city for races concerts and the in

I was interviewed offered a position and relocated in about a month and a half. It was my first real job

Well after a month in Florida on vacation I39m back on board. The weather has changed dramatically and my big coat and hat are out of storage. Kiel is sunny but cold and it feels like the winter is pushing hard to get here. Today we have a NE wind from Scandinavia which is bringing the temperature down a lot.Plans for this week are the normal maintenance on the boat and my accounts. Soon b

Hafenfest in Husum
Gala Formal Farewell dinner
After a relaxing day cruising through the Kiel Canal we changed clothes into our Formal wear for the Farewell dinner in the La Fontaine dinning room. Laurieanne had cooked up an event for the dinner. Five people including John were going to enter the dinning room wearing masks and see what the reaction would be. I was the official photographer for the event. Laurieanne had previously bought
Transit the Kiel Canal
Right after breakfast I went up to the top deck to view and take pictures of the approach to the Kiel Canal. There were already people with chairs along the rail so I found a space and took pictures between people. The whether was good clear and sunny. The Kiel Canal the world39s busiest artificial waterway links the North Sea with the Baltic Sea. An average of 250 nautical miles are sav

Above the clouds.....
What a surprise I was having a bit of glum day trying to decide what to do with the rest of my life as usual when my sister Heidi told me to wrap myself up warm grab my camera and hop in the car. She had a surprise planned for me. I've mentioned previously that Heidi's boyfriend owns a restaurant that's situated on a small Airfield and my lovely Sis had arranged for me to partake in a 35 minute
A Vet's life....
Hello Again well my first day was a complete mixture of emotions at the vets. I was thrown in at the deep end which I loved. I was assisting with Ops before I was even introduced to anyone they appeared to have a real staff shortage. Although I must admit that the responsibility felt a little daunting. We performed a total of 12 minor operations undertook a tummy scan on a lovely fluffy ferrel

When I was a wee girlie I really wanted to be a vet but somehow fell into the 'I need to make money in Business Development' trap instead. You may have come across my travel entries where I swoon over pets wildlife I'm a complete nature freak so I have now decided to spend some time double checking if my calling really was
